About Us

In 1967 Herb A. Owens was called as a full time Minister to serve under an eleven-member steering committee serving under the guidance and support of the Florida New Church Evangelism Association. Herb served until 1969. Then P.W. Hays was called to serves as interim minister from 1969-1970. The following pastors served as Part-time ministers, David Beaners from 1970-1971, Harold McDole from 1972-1980, Joe Ben Rhodes from 1980-1990 and Jess Cook from 1990-1993. In 1994 Reggie Reed was called to be the second full-time minister at Sun Valley Christian Church with Russ and Bonnie Frank serving as Volunteer Youth Ministers. Russ’s employment was relocated to Orlando. It was a great loss when he and his family moved. In 1996 Mike Hornstra was hired as youth minister. He and Beth served until the end of the year and voiced to the congregation how much they loved SVCC but Mike was under conviction that his gift was to be a college professor. With his resignation the body sent them off with prayer as they continued their education. In 1997 Mark Naugler was hired as part-time Youth Minister. While Mark was there, Roger Lawrence came in to lead the music program in 1998 for evening service. Mark and Tonya served until 1999 when they were called to Cocoa Christian Church. Reggie invited Dennis Rackliff to come and do a revival in 2000. Dennis and Michelle were involved in New Church Development in Canada. In 2001 Dennis accepted the call to Co-Minister with Reggie. Dennis and Reggie took part-time jobs driving bus at Space Center in order to cut their salary so the church budget could afford a Youth Ministry. In 2004 Roger and Ellen Lawrence continued to volunteer in the Music Ministry, leading the Praise Team with their sons, Jarrod and Jeremy. Roger and Ellen were also youth sponsors. In 2004-2005 The FNCDA developed a different philosophy. SVCC steering committee with the church family decided it was time for the church to be governed by Elders and Deacons. Steering Committee developed a draft letter of separation to the FNCDA. The Steering Committee presented Godly men from the Church to become Elders. These men were Bill King, Gib Miller and Don Weaver. On September 7, 2008 Reggie Reed, Roger Lawrence and Dennis Rackliff were presented to the church to be Elders. In 2010 Dennis resigned as Elder and moved back to Canada to be near family. In 2016 John Quinlan was presented to the Church as a full-time minister. A few months later Deacon was added to his title as he had a gift of visitation and many songs in his heart to share. John was also presented to the church to become an Elder. John resigned at the end of 2017. In April 2018 Chad Adkins was presented to the Church to serve as full-time minister. Chad and Tara, with their three daughters, continue to serve.

Our Mission
We are a church that seeks to honor God, follow Jesus Christ, and live by the Spirit. We want to share with others the joy that we have found. We believe that working in groups is where we experience and give love, support, and care for each other. It is also where we witness spiritual transformation. No matter where your interests and talents lie, you will find opportunities to grow spiritually and to serve others.
Spend Time with JESUS
We believe that it’s through God’s Word that we learn His will for our lives. When we spend time with Jesus, through reading the Bible and prayer, we see our need for a savior and the individual purpose God has given us.

What To Expect :

Casual Atmosphere
At SVCC, we encourage you to come as you are, but expect to be transformed by Christ. Jesus met people where they were at in their life situation, and He served and loved them for who He saw them as. The only expectation is come dressed and ready to celebrate with us in worship!

Thought-Provoking Biblical Message
We believe that God’s Word is relevant, relatable, and applicable for everyone. It is a living and active text, a light in darkness, giving encouragement, conviction, accountability, and hope. It’s remarkable history. It’s His story.

Emotion-Provoking Worship
At SVCC, we also believe that worship is a celebration as the collective community of the Kingdom. As we gather, we worship with engaging music to prepare to engage with others and God, through His Spirit and His Word.
The team behind
We believe that we were created to serve God and serve people. Whether you serve within the church in one of our ministries or serve outside of the church through local outreaches, you’ll be fulfilling your purpose as you make God known.
